Often times we feel entitled to give our opinions, saying it’s freedom of speech. However it had a diff6tune wheb we’re on the other side of the fence when we’re given opinions on our lives, we call it attack. We never think of the consequences of our actions or opinions as long as it does not affect us. How selfish are we? We sit behind social media profiles and spit poison because we think the lifes we are atacking are public so it makes it right. They put their lives out there so they should stand for thr outcomes. Sad…
I have learned that my opinions of others, public or not, I am not entitled to pass judgement. Only God knows their heart. That my actions have consequences even if it’s indirectly to others, I should be careful that I don’t intentionality harm others. I have learned to keep distance from gossip, because if I don’t rebuke it, then I’m part of it, so for now I’m walking away because being confrontational is not easy. I have learned to walk away from negative talk, especially that does not lead to motivation towards the end, but only takes from my soul. I have learned not to let the opinions of others affect me because they don’t know me personally. I have also learned my own thoughts could destroy my life, if do not guard and invite positivity in my life.
Everyday I learn something new, application is not always easy. When I struggle, I’m reminded about what Jesus would have done and what the Bible instructs me to do in such cases. I fail everyday, but I’m encouraged knowing that there are so many who have failed, fallen trap, never guarded themselves, betrayed Jesus, dishonoured God and so many other things we all go through as human beings. They have failed, they never gave up, they listened, learned and continued to walk with God.
“Pay attention to what I say, my child. Listen to my words. Never let them get away from you. Remember them and keep them in your heart. They will give life and health to anyone who understands them. Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts. Never say anything that isn’t true. Have nothing to do with lies and misleading words. Look straight ahead with honest confidence; don’t hang your head in shame. Plan carefully what you do, and whatever you do will turn out right. Avoid evil and walk straight ahead. Don’t go one step off the right way.” ~ Proverbs 4:20-27 GNB
